The only difference is that i'll be moving overseas so i can't keep my working NA. I looked into getting a new R6 for a while, but that will end up being too much of a pain to learn how to ride on (assuming this will be your first motorcycle.) my friends and my instincts say to go for something that i won't likely DIE on. If i'm right and you're in the same boat as me, go for an older 600 or a newer 500 if you want to hold onto the bike for a couple years. Otherwise, market price for a Ninja 250 only depreciates $100-$200 every year, meaning you would have just rented that starter bike for only $200 across the entire year. When I move I plan to FIRST get a beater car that will last a year or so, then SECOND get a used 500cc sportbike that i can drive when we get nice days in hawaii, which will be every day. You will need a car a lot more than a bike, so you should only get a motorcycle if you can fall back on a car.
And when the day arrives I'll become the sky And I'll become the sea And the sea will come to kiss me For I am going Home Nothing can stop me now -La Mer
